Allison Bernard Memorial High School
Rooted in culture, focused on growth, and building for the future! Founded in 1998 as Eskasoni High School, ABMHS serves students in Grades 9–12 and blends the Nova Scotia Curriculum with a strong focus on Mi’kmaq language, culture, and tradition.
The school celebrates identity through vibrant Mi’kmaq artwork, annual events like the ABMHS Pow-wow, and recognitions such as the Role Model of the Year Award. Students benefit from academic and personal support, with a range of extracurricular clubs and sports. As construction of the new high school continues in Castle Bay, set to open as early as September 2026, the current ABMHS building will become the new home for Eskasoni Middle School, welcoming Grades 5-8.
